How It Works
Multiple choice, computer-based test, sat at a CITB-approved test centre, with the pass mark and time limit set by CITB. Results are valid for 2 years from the date you pass.

What happens if I fail?
No refund is due for the test fee, and additional charges as set by the test centre or awarding body may apply if you wish to resit.
How do I know which specialist topic to choose?
Your specialist topic should match your specific role or trade — Supervisory, Demolition, Plumbing, Highway Works, Specialist Work at Height, Lifts and Escalators, Tunnelling, or one of the four HVACR/HVACE variants. If you're not sure which applies to you, contact us and we'll confirm before you book.
How long is my result valid?
2 years from the date you pass — same as stated above.
How quickly can I get booked in?
We typically book test appointments within 1–3 days, and you'll get email confirmation within one working day.
What if I can't make my appointment?
